Folio: viii-404 pp. (some spotting and browning, stain on p. vii).

Modern three-quarter morocco, gilt spine on raised bands (rubbed, corners bumped with lacks of leather).

Monumental ed. of the works of the Roman poet Horace (65-8 B.C.). Second large folio printed at the Louvre to appear by Pierre Didot (1760-1853), known as Pierre Didot the Elder. 11 engr. headpieces and 1 vignette on title by Girardet, Beisson and Coiny after Ch. Percier (1764-1838), one of the leading neoclassical architects in France. Ed. lim. to 250 copies (num. 155) sign. by Didot l'aîné.
