First 8vo edition of the French translation of "A voyage to the Cape of Good Hope" (1785) by the Swedish naturalist Anders Sparrman (1748-1820) who was assistant naturalist to Johann and Georg Forster. The first part entails a folding frontispiece showing the environment of the Cape of Good Hope and a large folding map "Contenant les noms et la positions des lieux habités tant par les colons Hollandais que par les Hottentots".
