Cont. blind-ruled calf over wood, spine on 4 raised bands, paper title labels, orig. chain piece on top of lower cover (central metal orn. piece, corner pieces and clasps and catches gone; sm. wormholes in both covers, some def. on covers, head & tail, joints splitting, staining, endpapers renewed). Good copy and a splendid example of very early printing.

Editio princeps of Augustinus' famous systematic treatise on the Trinity, written between 400 and 416 AD. Ms. running titles and rubricated throughout in red. Many red and some blue 2-3 line initials, some red 5-9 line initials. Printed in gothic type, in 2 cols. Ref.
