Lot description
Drawing, pen, brown ink and watercolour, laid paper, 44,9 x 57,2 cm (used, edges frayed, some tears, traces of folds).
Curious, detailed manuscript cadastral plan of Mariakerke (Ghent), with many properties identified. O.a. "het goedt van Charles Allegambe" in the "De beeckstraete", which is the Kasteel ter Beken that still exists today, or "het goedt van mijnheer Penneman", who likely owned this parcel until around 1770; at the end of the 19th-c. the castle Claeys-Bouüart was built at this location, replacing the earlier "goedt" here mentioned. It also includes the names of local tenants ("als pachter"), o.a. Jan Geirnaert, Pieter Cornelis, etc.
