Contemp. vellum, blind-stamped boards, flat spine with black leather title label (spine def., joints split).

First edition of this important topographical work on the marquisate of Antwerp by J. Le Roy (1633-1719). Richely hand-coloured ill.: an engr. title by A. van Diepenbeeck, 1 map "Marchionatus Sacri Romani Imperii", 2 city plans (Antwerp, Breda), 15 double-page or folding pl. with views of the Jesuit church, and funeral monuments, monasteries, castles i.a. "Monasteri S. Michaelis abbati", "Cartusiam Liranam", "Castrum toparchiae de Broechem", "Cleydael", "Tungerloa", "Turnhout celebre Taxandriae municipium", "Corsendonca", 55 smaller pl. on 44 ff. showing views of Berchem, Schilde, Schoten, Wijnegem, Corsendonk, Grobbendonk, Westerlo, Westmalle, Hoogstraten, Hoboken, Monkhoven, Burcht, Turnhout, Boom and 10 full-page pl. showing mostly funeral monuments, the engr. "schema metallorum" at the end of the tables. Enriched with a sm. engr. view of "Praetorium Boulaer" by F. Ertinger on p. 95. Ms. list of pl. bound at the end.
