Lot description
Etching, 9,4 x 6,2 cm, laid paper, signed and dated "Rembrandt / f 1641".
Hinged to paper at upper edges. Good impression with margins. Excellent condition.
From the original plate etched by Rembrandt (1606-1669) in 1641. This impression slightly later. 2nd state (of 4) with a few lines added to the head of the woman and the shadows reworked, probably by Claude-Henri Watelet (1718-1786). Before the plate was reworked twice by the Basan workshop.
