Purple cloth, metal coat of arms on central upper corners, metal clasps and catches with gemstones. Slipcase.

First unabridged facsimile edition of the most elegant and unique Book of Hours, commissioned by the Duke of Berry, ever reproduced in facsimile. This masterpiece was illuminated by the famous Jacquemart de Hesdin, the Duke's principal court painter from 1384 to 1409 (date of his death), the Master of Bedford and the Master of Boucicaut. For the first time in the world history of facsimile, the binding of a codex or illuminated manuscript is reproduced using genuine gemstones, not synthetic or reconstructed ones, with a certificate and gemological report of authenticity as a guarantee of authenticity. One of 50 numb. copies of the "serie oro" (n. 25). Without the colour commentary in four languages.
