Limited edition of this album published in tribute to the Russian dancer Vaslav Nijinsky, with preface by Francis de Miomandre. Ill. with 12 very beautiful lithographs heightened with watercolour by Barbier. Limited ed. of 390 copies, one of 340 on wove paper (n. 319). This is the first work that the artist illustrated alone. Barbier (1882-1932) was one of the great French illustrators of the early 20th century. He designed theatre and ballet costumes and produced haute couture fashion illustrations.
