4 vol. (of 6) gr. in-f° : [4] ff.-pp. 55-80 (i.e. 26 pp.)-[44] ff., [48], [48] and [43] ff.; 418 pl. (vol. 1 and 5 missing; wormholes and galleries with some losses of text, figures undamaged, some leaves unbound in vol. 6, some annotations and underlinings).

Cont. binding : half-parchment with corners, marbled paper on the boards, flat spine, manuscript titles (used, some wormholes and galleries, some lacks on corners and spines).

Copy with vol. 2, 3, 4 and 6, illustrated with beautiful hand-coloured botanic plates (5 titles with lettering in gold) by Nikolaus Eisenberger (1707-1773) or adapted from the plates by the Scottish artist Elizabeth Blackwell (1707-1758). Bilingual edition Latin-German, divided into 6 centuries of plates (with pl. b and c). Each volume contains 2 printed titles-pages (Latin and German), a preface and the explanation of the plates, by Christoph Trew, Georg Rudolph Bohmer, and Ernst Gottlob Bose, and tables in 8 languages (Latin, German, English, Greek, Spanish, French, and Dutch). The plants are represented with seeds, flowers, roots, and cuts if necessary. Ref.
