Folio (27,5 x 18 cm): [306] ff., on paper, in Arabic with Persian annotations, written in a red and black Shikasteh with gilt border, written area: 21 x 12 cm (some foxing and soiling, sm. tear on 1st f.).

Contemp. night blue shagreen, buckram covers with gilt central orn. ruled with a gilt floral border with corner floral tools and with a large gilt border, flat spine, red morroco doublures with central painted flowers within gilt borders and floral corner tools (sm. scratches on covers, sm. def.).

Treatise on medicine and healing based, according the author, on numerous works in different languages, translated in Persian, written i.a. by Galen, Muhammad b. Zarariya, Hunayn b. Ishaq as well as Indian physicians. The text is divided up into four main sections: herbal medicine, poisons and how to avoid them, various methods of preparing medicine, and diagnoses of illness and how to treat them. Illumination: opening ff. with gilt clouds with large borders with gold floral arabesque touched in red and blue, important words in red.
