Contemp. blind- and roll-stamped calf, spine with four raised bands, later title labels, clasps and catches (somewhat rubbed, mostly to the spine). Good copy.

Re-edition of one of the principal works on falconry (1st, Aix-en-Provence, 1598) "dont 10 éditions successives en moins d'un demi-siècle (1598-1644) attestent le succès" (Thiébaud). Engr. ill. (complete): 14 full-page engr. pl. of birds (of which 2 anatomical) and 5 full-page engr. pl. showing instruments of which one 1 fold. pl. This edition is the first to contain "La fauconnerie du Roy" and the poem by Esparron; the "Discours de chasse" was only included in 1619. Title in red and black.
