Large folio: [2]-115-10-[10] ff.; 66 maps, contemp. border-colouring (without letterpress title "Les royaumes d'Angleterre", maps 33. "Ferrara" and 35. "Romagna", on 3I and 3L, swapped, delicately toned throughout, sm. wormhole on title, a few light marg. damp stains).

Contemp. mottled calf, spine with 6 raised bands, covers blind-tooled (hinges weak, head tail and spine damaged, corners bumped, generally frotted and tr. of use).

The new third volume, added in 1640 to the 2 volume French edition of Blaeu's "Theatrum Orbis Terrarum". With 58 maps of Italy, 4 maps of Greece, and the appendix with 4 maps of the British Isles having the characteristic odd signatures "STVXYy", etc. These last maps were included to satisfy customers awaiting the complete British Isles volume, which eventually appeared as 2 volumes. Only the letterpress title of the appendix is missing, in sofar as it was present at all.
