Publisher's binding in the "cathedral binding"-style: brown morocco, blindstamped gothic arched porch on upper covers with gilt title inside, blind framed lower covers with gilt publisher's name in the centre, gilt titled flat spines, gilt edges (rubbed, 1st vol. more).

First edition illustrated with 60 chromolithographs depicting various monuments and churches in Brussels, Antwerp, Mechelen, Ghent, Tournai, Nivelle, Huy, Liège, etc.
