17th c

Folio: [104] ff., on paper (some soiling, occ. light damp stains, some ff. reinforced).

19th-c. half calf signed C. T'Kindt, Ghent, marbled paper on covers, gilt flat spine (corner sl. rubbed).

Collection of more than 100 hand-coloured coats of arms from Flemish noble men with those of their spounses and with their eight quarters, mainly taken from their graves. Some personalities: Juan de Aranda, governor of the castle of Ghent; Lieven Borluut, Lord of Sint-Denijs-Boekel; Gilles de Glymes, mayor of Namur; Pieter Le Coq, Lord of Wulvergem; Jacob Martins, president of the Council of Flanders; Martin Volckaert, alderman of Ghent; Jan Zaman, Lord van Poort; etc. The pp. are numbered 15-220 by a contemp. hand (the 1st and the 3 last pp. are not filled) (is our copy complete?). Enriched with a large hand-coloured reproduction of the gravestone of Gerard Rijm, lord of Eckenbeke, and his wife Barbara Claissons, located in Saint Michael's Church in Ghent, certified by the aldermen of Ghent in 1694 (some tears).
