Mod. gilt calf, covers with triple gilt ruled border, gilt spine with 5 raised bands, gilt inside dentelles, a.e.g. (over marbled edges), green silk marker. Very good complete copy.
Extremely rare (10th recorded copy?) early ed. of verses by the French poet Jean de Meung (124x-1304), continuator of the Roman de la Rose. Part 2 titled "Testament Maistre Jean de meun. Auecques lespitaphe du feu Roy Charles septyesme qui trespassa a meun". Large title woodcut, 2 full-page woodcuts (e8v + mark at the end), 3 half-page woodcuts in text. Printed in Gothic type.
