Oblong 4to (some thumbing, soiling or dampstaining, old marginal repairs).

Contemp. vellum, flat spine (stained). In good condition.

1. Sadeler, Joannes & Raphael - Sylvae sacrae. Monumenta sanctioris philosophi[a]e quam severa Anachoretarum disciplina vitae et religio decuit. 30 engravings (29 numbered + 1 unnumbered), by the Sadeler brothers after Maarten de Vos, with Latin distichs, and dedicated (from München 1594) to William V, Duke of Bavaria. Ref. Hollstein XLVI:994-1023 - Cp. Funck p. 390.
2. Collaert, Adriaen - Solitudo sive Vitae foeminarum Anachoritarum [...] a Cornelio Kiliano Dufflaeo carmine elegiaco explanatae. 23 engravings (title + 22 [of 23] numbered pl.; missing pl. 2). First state of these engravings by Adriaan and Hans Collaert, and Cornelis Galle, after Maarten de Vos, with Latin distichs by Cornelis Kiliaan, showing i.a. Dympna and Maria of Oignies.
