17th-c. Dutch overl. vellum, flat spine with ink title (front cover and spine sl. soiled, wormholes to lower cover, trimmed sl. touching marginalia).

First edition of an uncommon essay on ambiguities in Roman law by the Bruges author, and Douai professor, J. Raewaerd (1535-1568), dedicated to the influential Leuven professor J. Hopperus. Printed by the Bruges Renaissance printer H. Goltzius. Illustrated with 3 small woodcut coin ill. and the printer's mark on title.
