Contemp. vellum (sl. soiled), spine with 5 raised bands titled in ink (joints splitting, some sm. def.).
First edition of this work by the French theologian and learned orientalist J. Morin (or Joannes Morinus, 1591-1659). Born in Blois to Calvinist parents, Morin studied Latin and Greek at La Rochelle and continued his studies in Leiden, before moving to Paris. There he was converted to Roman Catholicism by Cardinal Du Perron. Some Hebrew and Greek type. Woodcut mark on title. Title in red and black.
