Very rare first German edition concerning various discoveries and improvements mainly in agriculture, with an extensive explanation about useful machines and models for use within the agricultural sector, the domestic industry, etc. The original work (London 1772-1779) was the first English atlas of machinery and mechanical devices. Ill. with 55 folding plates by M. Weissenhahn after Bailey and his son, depicting mills, spinning and glass cutting machines, ploughs, looms, etc. They show the instruments and machines held by the "Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures, and Commerce" in London, today "Royal Society of Arts".
