Contemp. marbled calf, gilt ruled covers with three fillets, gilt orn. spines with raised bands, marbled edges (joints partly repaired, heads of vol. III-IV and tail of vol. I restored, lack to head of vol. I, occ. sm. traces of use). Good conditon.

First issue (with p. 215 in vol. III correctly numbered and title of vol. IV dated 1771 and not 1770). Nice illustrations by Boucher, Eisen, Gravelot, Leprince, Monnet, Morea... and Choffard (engr. title, dedication and tailpiece in fine of vol. IV) engraved a.o. by Bacquoy, Basan, Binet, Née, Ponce, and Saint-Aubin: 1 engr. title, 3 pp. of dedication in vol. I, 4 title vignettes, 139 plates, 30 headpieces and 1 full-page tailpiece. Ed. with parallel text Latin-French.
