Lot description

Between 1937 and 1941

B/w and 3 b/red photos (some original), ± 8 x 12 cm to 5 x 7 cm, glued on black paper (at the end, several are removed from the paper).

Kept in an 4to publisher's album, black cloth (sl. worn).

49 photos of the Second Sino-Japanese War (1937-1945): burned buildings, bomb frozen in the ground, soldiers in firing positions, tanks, ± 15 of corpses mutilated, burned, etc. Several of these photos have a caption in Chinese.-- 31 photos of Shanghai: foreign concessions, the Bund (?) and the Heping hotel (?).-- 39 of the Italian concession in Shanghai: parade (along the Bund), blessing of the navy, fascist greeting during a competition, life in the barracks.-- ± 40 photos taken in the Italian Empire of Ethiopia (1936-1941?): landscapes, groups of Italian soldiers or Ethiopians (several photos teared out in this last part).
