Father Tuck's mechanical animals.

10 items, chromography, +/- 20 x 15 cm (some rare sm. tears or minimal defaults otherwise in very good condition).

French version of 10 movable cut-out animals which "can be placed in hundreds of different life-like attitudes". The English set counts 6 series with toys numbered 1 to 48, all with explanations on the reverse: S1, Domestic animals: 1-8 ; S2, Wild and tame animals: 9-18 ; S3, Wild animals: 19-27 ; [S4, Various wild animals: 28-36. Never printed ?] ; S5, Pet dogs: 37-44 ; S6, Domestic and wild animals: 45-48).
We have: "La brebis" (n. 9-series II), "La vache" (n. 11-II, with fold), "Le Bull-dog" (13-II), "Le singe" (15-II), "Le poney" (16-II), "L'éléphant" (17-II, discreet fold), "Le tigre" (21-III), "Le chameau" (23-III), "L'ours blanc" (24-III, disassembled but easy to repair) and "Le renard" (27-III, with discreet fold).
