Very rare collection, complete in itself, of 44 nicely engraved hand-coloured botanical plates by Aubry constituting the last (38th) volume of "Oeuvres complètes" of Rousseau publ. by Poinçot in 1788-1793. The engravings, inserted in the text, are intended to illustrate the thirty-two elementary letters on botany as well as the dictionary of terms of use in botany. In the letters we find the name (in French) and a description of the different flowers and plants represented. Plates I to XXXVIII illustrate the letters and plates I to VI are part of the dictionary of botanical terms.
