Commemorative album from Brussels "best known portrait studio" in the 1860s, comprising Ghémar's widely disseminated portrait of King Leopold I, two portraits of the new King Leopold II and his wife Marie Henriette, as well as reproductions of paintings with photo-montaged images featuring the ceremonies that marked the transfer of power after the death of Leopold I. Some copies also contain a reproduction of the investiture ceremony when Leopold II is invested with the Order of the Garter, but this 14th pl. is not present in our copy.
