2 vol., folio: [12]-1048-[1-1 bl.] pp., 928-34-[80-63-1 bl.] pp. (lacking final blank vol. I; toned, piece of fore-edge margin of engraved title II torn off and underlaid).
Contemp. calf, covers with gilt triple ruled border, richly gilt spine of 6 raised bands, a.e.g., marbled endpapers (sl. rubbed, head and tail def., joints splitting, vol. II repaired). Very good copy.
Latin Vulgate with notes by the Spanish Jesuits J. Mariana (1536-1624) and E. Sa (1530-1596), and the Flemish Jesuit P. Lansselius (1579-1632); at the end Franciscus Lucas Brugensis’ “Romanae correctionis in Latinis Bibliis editionis vulgatae […] loca insigniora” (1st Plantin 1580). Engr. titles. Engr. mark on part-title. Woodcut mark at end of parts (exc. on the f. 2K4, which is lacking). Printed within ruled border.
