Folio: front.-[30] ff. (some toning & marg. soiling).
Brown quarter cloth (sm. def.), marbl. paper on covers (rubbed), flat spine.
Only the plates of the reissue of the 1725 Amst. ed. Containing engr. ill.: allegorical front. by I.W. Winter after A. van Laan, 2 maps ("Le Diemer en Watergraafs-meer en l'année 1531" and "De platte grond van de Stad Amsteldam"; lacking the large double-page map "Het Watergraafs of Diemer-Meer" situation 1725, num. 1 on the list for the bookbinder) and 58 plates by D. Stopendaal (2 to a page), depicting gardens and pleasure palaces on the countryside, all nicely animated. In 1629, the Diemermeer, south east of Amsterdam, was drained and made available for rich people to construct "buitenplaatsen". Huize Frankendael is the only one that still exists today. Leaf "Inhoud der tijtel-print voor de gezichten in de Diemermeir" bound before front. Title provided in ms. on flyleaf.
