3 parts in 1 vol., folio: 379-[3], [2]-184, 43-[5] pp., 2 maps and 20 pl. in 1st part, 2 maps and 8 pl. in 2nd part (1 map and pl. Buddha bound differently, ms. notes, corner missing, pp. 9/17 of last part bound wrongly in 1st part).

Contemp. vellum (vellum detached from cardboard). A used and not very fresh copy.

Complete first edition of this splendidly illustrated early account of Asia, including Persia and Georgia. The 1st part covers the empire of the "Great Mogol" (Central Asia and Northern India), the 2nd part Iran, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iraq, Dagestan, etc. All parts deal with the topography, religion, mythology, languages and politics of various regions. Engr.: title, 4 double-page maps ("Magni mogolis imperium", "Persia sive sophorum regnum", "Paskaert vande Caspise Zee", "Tabula colchidis hodie mengrelie"), 12 double-page views, 16 full-page ill. and ca. 30 half-page ill. in the text.
