Mod. red shagreen binding, gilt titled spine raised on 4 bands, Monogram "VB" on front cover. Good copy.
Very rare edition of the work by the humanist Viennese Bischop Faber (1478-1541), who strongly opposed the Protestant Reformation in Habsburg territories. He was sometimes described as "the hammer of heretics". In this work he reflects upon the reasons for human suffering and God's divine plan, based upon previously written sermons.
