Lot description
4to: [6]-ccliii ff. (minor soiling or staining).
Old sheep (worn, edges stained), spine with 3 raised bands (repairs). Good copy.
Very rare important humanist ed. of Juvenal by the Flemish humanist printer in Paris J. Badius (1461-1535), including the commentary by the Italian humanist Mancinelli (1452-1502). This is a unique example of an ed. commissioned from Badius (a native of Ghent!) by 3 Flemish booksellers active in Ghent. Printed in larger (text) and smaller (commentary) gothic type. A few reader's marks.
