Important voluminous scholarly Greek ed. of Euripides’ tragedies, including the editio princeps of the fragment of “Danae”, found in the Heidelberg Bibliotheca Palatina. The editor Aemilius Portus (1550-1614) was an Italian humanist active in Germany. He corrected the Latin tsl. of Dorotheus Camillus (pseudonym of the Zürich professor of Greek Rudolf Ambühl, 1499-1578), and added notes by the Leuven professor of Greek Willem Canter (1542-1575).
