Extr. rare legal dissertation (3rd recorded copy?). Eberhard Alting (156x-16xx), a member of a famous Drenthe family, was a younger brother of Menso Alting (1541-1612). He studied with Ubbo Emmius in Geneva under Th. Beza, got a law degree in Basel (with this thesis), and became "Syndicus" of Emden and Ostfriesland. Title (and verso) within border of type ornaments.
