Original 1st Rome issue of a speech by G. Roma (d. 1652) in favour of the canonization of Charles Borromeo (1538-1584), with a reply by Piettro Strozzi. The Milanese archbishop Borromeo, a leading figure of the Counter-Reformation, was canonized by Paul V on 1 November 1610, with his feast on 4 November. Woodcut papal arms on title. Title printed within border of type ornaments. Ref. Cp. BnF (Rome & Milan issue). - Not in Rhodes (BL). Joined: Bertoloti, Lucas, O.Cist. – D. Bernardus abbas Claraevallis Alcides mysticus. Elogium.
