Cont. calf (worn, spine repaired at tail and head, front cover detached). One of the main works of Vergilius Polydorus (1470-1555), Italian scholar, humanist and diplomat who spent most of his time in England working at the Court. Vergilius' De Inventoribus Rerum was published in 1499, having been written in only three months.
