Lot description

Folio: [184] ff., 35 ll. (dampstained throughout esp. in inner and bottom margin, some mouldy spots in 1st ff., holes in ff. 1-3 with loss of text, some thumbing).

Old calf over wood, spine on 4 raised bands, gilt sides (loosening, rebacked, head def.). A more or less acceptable copy.

2nd ed. (1st Florence 1492) of the writings of Matteo Bosso (1428-1502), Verona canon and confessor of Lorenzo de’ Medici. Pt. 1 consists of shorter woks and speeches, mainly on religious subjects, but also e.g. "De honesto cultu feminarum"; Pt. 2 contains his "Epistolae". Woodcut mark at the end.
