Folio: [197] ff. (without the 1st bl. leaf, some brown. lvs, some stains, marginal restoration on f. r1, occ. sm. holes, wormholes neatly filled on f. z6, sm. marg. tears on f. A1, old ms. foliation and another more recent made in pencil, trace of an old pencil drawing on the f. z6 verso).

19th-c. binding by Léon Gruel: green morocco decorated "à la Duseuil", boards with blind-tooled fillets double frame and gilt Aldine fleuron in the corners, ribbed spine, blind-tooled frames and gilt Aldine fleuron on the panels, inside gilt dentelle, marbled endpapers, a.e.g. (very sl. rubbed). Nice copy.

Fourth edition, but the most scarce of those of the 15th century, of this book printed in Latin and Greek. The text, a great success in Antiquity, deals with a variety of subjects such as philosophy, law, history, literature and grammar, and quotes some earlier Latin and Greek works known only from this work. Rubricated in red and blue, 6-line initial on first text leaf and 2-line initials throughout. Numerous contemporary annotations in Latin and Greek. Ref.
