19th-c. binding by Léon Gruel: green morocco decorated "à la Duseuil", boards with blind-tooled fillets double frame and gilt Aldine fleuron in the corners, ribbed spine, blind-tooled frames and gilt Aldine fleuron on the panels, inside gilt dentelle, marbled endpapers, a.e.g. (very sl. rubbed). Nice copy.

The text, a great success in Antiquity, deals with a variety of subjects such as philosophy, law, history, literature and grammar, and quotes some earlier Latin and Greek works known only from this work.
