Mod. vellum-covered boards, gilt-titled flat spine (sl. soiled). Good copy.

Only incunable ed. of a treatise on the Immaculate Conception by the Trinitarian scholar Gaguin (1433-1501). Woodcut mark on title. Printed in gothic type. Ref. ISTC ig00022000. - GW 10460. - Goff G-22. - BSB-Ink G-8.050. - Not in Polain. Bound with: CASTELLUS, Guillelmus – Carmina. [Paris, J. Maurand, c. 1495]. 4to: [20] ff. (collating a-b8 c4), 19-31 ll. Only complete copy of a small collection of Neolatin poetry by the Latin teacher G. Castellus from Tours. Printed in gothic type: "Type: 99B (of Maurand) ... presumably later than GW 6173” (Rhodes). Not identical with GW 6173 (collating A8 B6 C4, 21-31 ll.). On a1v a manuscript Latin poem, 7 distichs: “Lodoicj Bussolij Celte Augu | stodune(n)sis In priorem Guielmij Castelli turone(n)sis eius praeceptoris | elegiam Argumentum”. Manuscript notes on a5v (top margin), b2v (fore-edge margin), and b6v-7r (fore-edge margin, more extensive). Pen corrections on a8r and b1v. Ref. ISTC ic00250500 = Rhodes (Oxford Colleges) 521 (1: Taylor Institute, lacking quire c). - Not in BMC, BSB-Ink, CIBN, GW, Goff, Polain. Prov.
