Folio: [6]-cccci-[1 bl.]-CCCVI [= 296, compl. but jumping from 280 to 291] ff. (title loose, toned, some soiling and spotting, tiny worm holes on last ff., occ. ms. annot.).

18th-c. leather, covers covered with later leather, spine with raised bands (upper board loose, spine rubbed).

Very rare Cologne ed. of the "Leuven Bible", the Catholic Dutch translation by Nicolaas van Winghe (1495-1552). With the famous 154 large woodcuts within ornamental borders by Virgil Solis (1514-1562) (incl. repeats). They were originally published in Luther’s German Bible of 1560. Printed in Gothic type, in 2 col. Title within elaborate woodcut border, printed in red and black.
