Contemp. quarter calf, floral-stamped paper on covers, spine with 5 raised bands and black morocco title label (corners and edges bumped, spine rubbed). Partly unopend copy.

First Dutch translation - and first ill. ed. - of Peter Simon Pallas (1741-1811) work "Elenchus zoophytorum sistens generum adumbrationes generaliores et specierum cognitarum succintas descriptiones" with a detailed classification of corals and sponges. The Dutch naturalist and medical doctor Pieter Boddaert (1733-1795) added comments and 4 fine folding engr.
