Folio: [82]-305-[2-1 bl.] pp. (sm. wormtrack in blank margin of 1st quires, some soiling & staining, larger stain with some rep. in last quires, some sm. tears in pls and text, some underlaid, title rep., edges frayed, pls Bommel & Bantam cut short, 7 genealogical pls (as often) lacking).

Old calf, spine on 6 raised bands, brown leather title label, covers with large blindstamped central ornament in blindruled frame (very sl. rubbed). Good copy.

Second edition of the French translation of the genealogy of the House of Nassau, followed by a detailed and illustrated account of the victories of Maurice of Nassau, by the Leiden town secretary J. Orlers (1570-1646). Engr. ills: full-page arms of Nassau on verso of title, full-page portrait of Maurice of Nassau, double-page map of the Low Countries, 42 double-page views and maps showing battle scenes and views of Nieuwpoort, Ostend, Tienen, Bergen-op-Zoom, Sluis, Nijmegen, Breda, Zutphen, Deventer, Nova Zembla, the Canaries, etc. and 13 half-page portraits in text.
