Lot description
33 x 22 cm, on laid paper, in French, coloured inks and gouache, ink signed "Martel scripsit" (marg. tear at right margin).
Under passe-partout and gilt frame (not studied outside frame).
Highly ornamental, calligraphed excerpt in French out of "L'Homme conduit par la Raison" [Paris, Pillot, 1770] by an anonymous writer. This handwritten prayer asks for the protection and longevity of the King of France.
