Late 18th-early 19th c
Drawing, pencil, grey ink, watercolour, 40,9 x 29,8 cm (visible), wove paper, signed at bottom left: "Carle Vernet" (foxing).
Under passe-partout and frame (not studied outside frame).
Soldier with a lance on a spotted horse with additional riders in the background. Carle Vernet (1758-1836) specialized in military and hunting scenes with horses.
