Contemp. overl. vellum (soiled). Good copy.

Second edition of this humanist history of the Netherlands in Roman Antiquity and Middle Ages (1st Leiden 1588), by the physician and first Leiden professor H. Junius (1511-1575). It contains one of the earliest references to Laurens Coster and the invention of printing, and the first use of the word "incunable". Woodcut mark on title. Woodcuts in text (coins etc.).
