First 8vo edition of the French translation of "A voyage to the Cape of Good Hope" (1785) by the Swedish naturalist Anders Sparrman (1748-1820) who was assistant naturalist to Johann and Georg Forster. Ill. with a folding frontispiece showing the environment of the Cape of Good Hope, a large folding map "Contenant les noms et la position des lieux habités tant par les colons Hollandais que par les Hottentots" and 15 engr. plates (2, 7, 6) showing local artifacts and fauna.
