1st French trsl. of the important Dutch manual of obstetrics (1st 1784) by J.B. Jacobs (1734-1790). Ill. with an engr. dedicatory headpiece to the "Châtellenie du Vieux-Bourg" and 21 full-page numb. engr. plates (2 fold.) by Tiberghien & L.J. Wauters. "À l'époque de son apparition, c'était un des traités les plus complets sur l'art des accouchements" (Bibl. gant.). This book was available to midwives in many Flemish villages and towns.
