Rare second edition (1st posthumous: 1687, folio), edited by Fortunato Alamandini, of this fundamental work for the knowledge of Central and West Africa, and also for the Capuchins activities in the regions. Ill. with an engr. front., 1 fold. map and 42 plates (34 small pl., 7 full-page pl. and 1 sm. fold. plate). The Capuchin Cavazzi (1621-1678) was sent as missionary to Congo from 1654 until 1667 and from 1673 till 1677.
