Engraving, 38,5 x 51 cm; in lower margin "proefdruk" (in ms. or engraved?). Marg. repairs to sm. old tears. Good condition.
Very rare & large engr. in praise of J. Calvin and the Synod of Dordrecht (1618-1619). With a portrait of the church reformer above. Left and right scenes of ceremonies in the Calvinist church around the year 1791: communion, consistory, baptism and the adoption. In the centre Calvin on the Reichstag and an image of the Synod of Dordrecht from 1618-1619.
