First edition by N. Bion (1652-1733), manufacturer of mathematical and astronomical instruments, and globes and spheres merchant. Ill. with a dedicatory headpiece and 28 engr. pl. (some folding) by H. Van Loon. Bion wrote one of the most important books on scientific instruments of his time. He explained clearly to the general reader the different types of instruments that existed and how they worked.
