Contemp. half calf, marbled paper on covers, gilt orn. spine (repaired).

Bound with, same author, place and printers: 1. Fructologia, of Beschryving der vrugtbomen en vrugten die men in de hoven plant en onderhoud [...]. [1763]. [4]-68 pp.; 19 pl. (marg. tear on title repaired).-- 2. Dendrologia, of Beschryving der plantagie-gewassen, die men in de tuinen cultiveert [...]. [1763]. [6]-87-[4] pp. (marg. tear on pp. 45-46 repaired). 3 works by J.H. Knoop (1700-1769), curator of the gardens of Maria Louisa van Hessen-Cassel, William of Orange's widow and Dutch regent, rightly famous for their 39 engraved and splendid hand-coloured plates and for the representation of many species now lost. The first one with 20 full-page pl. by Folkema and Philips depicting apples and pears, the second one with 19 full-page pl. with ill. of peaches, plums, cherries, berries, etc. The 3 titles within border of type ornaments.
