Contemp. blind-stamped calf over wood, covers with lozenge-shaped frames and rows of circular stamps with animals, spine with 4 raised bands and gilt label, metal catches, vellum tabs and beads at fore-edge (rubbed, large tear in leather of covers, some dam. to leather of joints and spine, clasps gone). Good copy with wide margins.

Well printed collected ed. of Augustine’s Sermons. Present: parts I-V with Sermones ad heremitas, De verbis Domini, De verbis apostoli, In Epistolam Johannis, Opus quinquaginta homeliarum. The voluminous parts VI-VII (Sermones de tempore, de sanctis) were probably bound as a separate volume (not present). Full-page woodcut (verso title). Printed in 2 col., in Gothic type. Capital spaces with guide-letters. Rubricated throughout in red and blue. Some larger initials in blue and red. On I:b2r and II:a3r a nine-line initial with blue and red penwork.
