First edition of the two first volumes of this significant question-answer work on horse diseases. Although left unfinished (it was supposed to contain 6 vol.), the work had great succes and earned Bourgelat the title of correspondent to various academies. Illustrated by Delamonce with 2 frontispieces, 7 headpieces and 1 tailpiece. Bourgelat (1712-1779) founded the first veterinary school in the world in Lyon in 1762, and then another in Alfort. Ref.
